Eighteen months ago, only 4% of U.S. adults knew what regenerative agriculture was. Today it’s 7%, a 75% jump that reflects Kiss the Ground’s accelerating momentum to position soil health as a solution for human and planetary health. Practices like cover cropping, reduced tillage and adaptive grazing don’t just restore ecosystems and capture carbon, they boost yields and resilience.
From Storytelling to Support
Awareness matters, but action transforms. Kiss the Ground’s $500,000 direct-to-farmer grants, its most ambitious initiative yet, funded 225 farms across 76,000 acres. From Alabama’s no-till drills to Georgia’s nutrient testing, farmers are moving from inspiration to implementation.
AI as a Catalyst
AI isn’t just an efficiency tool; it’s the force multiplying Kiss the Ground’s reach. Where it previously produced 70 content pieces a year, the nonprofit now generates daily storytelling at scale. AI handles administration, sharpens audience insights and fuels rapid experimentation. In effect, it has shifted the organization from a media voice to a movement accelerator.
Partnerships at Scale
That leverage creates space for deeper partnerships with 22 companies, from Anthropologie’s regenerative cotton sourcing to Spindrift’s consumer storytelling. These collaborations expand regenerative agriculture from fields to mainstream brands, weaving it directly into everyday life.
Bridging the Gap
The hardest challenge remains the disconnect between consumers and the soil beneath their food. Few want a crash course in microbiomes, but everyone connects with human stories. Through quick-hit farmer videos and mini-documentaries, Kiss the Ground makes regeneration tangible and personal.
Measuring Impact
Every $100 donation helps transition 10 acres. Even so, regenerative agriculture resists formulas, and it’s contextual, adaptive, and closer to art than science. Which is why financial support, amplified by AI’s ability to connect and scale, is critical.
As CEO Evan Harrison notes: “What we need is everybody who’s interested to get involved, at the level that makes the most sense to you.” The call is simple, but the shift—powered by AI—is profound.
